Birthday!

Well it's that magial time of year again when we all celebrate ... ME! That's right, it's my b-day! I woke up to find an excited wifey sending me on a wild goose chase to find a gift my parents left for me before they left for B.C. Despite a sidetrack where Jessi forgot to tell me I was getting colder and I ended up on the third floor of the house (it was 6 am, we were tired) I found the gift hidden away in my Dad's office.

I had asked for them to get a duvet off of our wedding registry (sounds kind of boring in retrospect) but they totally suprised me with a brand new 19" flat screen monitor! Needless to say I was a few minutes late to work today because I had to plug that puppy in! Most importantly I had to see if I could run it in dual monitor mode with my old monitor... Yup! Now I'm part of the elite crew who can have two documents open in two different windows. Darn I feel special! :)

I wanted to take a picture of my new setup but unfortunately, our video camera is on the fritz and I had to take it into the shop. Actually several things have been acting up lately and I wonder if it's the humidity or something (or maybe just bad luck!).

In any event, I'm having a great birthday week so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of it (even though I feel sick this morning!). Tonight, Tony and Sally are joining Jessi and I for an Indian feast! My parents are going to Skype and phone me tonight too! On Saturday, we're having Matt, Veronica, Jo, Frazer, Mike, Ryan and Kristin over for a BBQ in the evening so that will be nice. Oh and Jessi picked up my traditional Ice Cream cake from Baskin Robbins yesterday so we're all set!

Happy birthday Rob! I didn't check your blog yesterday, we thought of it ourselves, honest!

Sounds like you're starting your birthday week (I like how you just casually toss out that it's a whole week, heh) in fine fashion. Hope the rest of it is just as fun!

Hugs,

Laura
