Phantom Borscht

We had a marvelous time these past few days visiting with Granddad.

On Tuesday we zipped (in zippy) down to harbourfront for a nice dinner at Il Fornellos which is a celiac-friendly Italian restaurant chain. We all had some tasty dinners and it was nice to get down by the lake. After dinner we headed over to the theatre to catch a rendition of the Phantom of the Opera. It was fantastic. Not quite as good as I remembered (I think I was ten when I saw it last) but thoroughly enjoyable!

Yesterday Jessi and I spent the day cleaning and preparing for the Royal visit. Jessi whipped up a batch of delicious Borscht (traditional beet soup for those not in the know). It was exhausting work but it was worth it. After dinner we played some Rummy and I almost felt like I was back in Maui. :)

Now it's back to work for Jessi and I. It's very nice to get a day off in the middle of the week! :)

On another note, I caught the tail end of a documentary last night on Marijuana that looks like it is very good. I found a copy on Google video and I will be watching it later. If you're intersted, here's the link.
