T-Minus Two Weeks

In two weeks from today, Jessi and I will be moving into our new home! We're very excited! More than half of the packing has been done and we're on top of all the other stuff (signing documents, setting up appointments, etc, etc...). We can't wait!

We've been rather busy lately taking care of all this house stuff, but we also had a little time for some fun! Last thursday we went to the CNE and had a blast looking at all the stuff for sale, hooking up with Matt for a bite in the food building (he works nearby), and catching the ski show. We were thoroughly exhausted by the time we were done and we didn't even go on any rides or play any midway games! We did get christmas presents for three people though!

On the weekend we had a party for Sally and Drago (Jessi's grandfather on Tony's side) at Sue's house. It was great to get together with that side of the family again. For the first time, Jessi and I prepared two dishes for the event (fresh rolls and aloo gobi) which went over very well. We went out with Tony and Sally again on Tuesday to Montana's to celebrate Sally's b-day (it was actually on Tuesday) with all-you-can-eat ribs. I discovered the hard way that you really can't eat more than one portion (I got one rib into my second plate before I tapped out!). At least they were REALLY tasty!

This weekend is going to be another busy one. We're hooking up with Matt and Veronica Friday night then Saturday is packing all-day (and laundry!). Sunday is the world-famous Purdy's Olde Tyme Chilli Cookoff. This year we're entering the first ever vegetarian chilli. I made it a couple of weeks ago and it's actually really good (almost as good as meat chilli). I'll post the recipe later for those veggie-heads (and former veggie-heads) who may be interested.
