The First Snow

Today we had our first "snow" of the season here in Toronto. I put that in quotes because it was more of a slush this morning but it is supposed to turn into actual snow later. I got out nice and early and shovelled the slush off of our driveway and sidewalk and threw down an excessive amount of salt since I won't be home until much later. It took another fifteen minutes to scrape the ice off of the car.

The drive in was fine. We didn't slip at all but we were taking it nice and slow. Lots of accidents were reported on the morning news. I guess people forget what snow is like every year. We've decided not to invest in snow tires this year because they're really expensive and we're not sure we'll need them in the city. If we run into alot of difficulty we may cave however.

I'm partially looking forward to winter since I enjoy the colder temperatures (for sleeping). However, the dry skin, snow shovelling, slower commutes and sub-zero conditions will definately have me wishing for spring sooner than later!
